This class has been a great experience for me because of the new technology I have learned about these past three weeks.  I love using my Gator to keep up with everyone’s blogs.  It is so efficient and easy to use.  I like posting to the blog with my thoughts.  I will admit that I am not the kind of person who likes journaling (like a diary), but this works for me.  I have been wanting to set up a web site for a few years where I could post what activities I do in class for those students who miss class.  Getting access on the school website is a nightmare, but now I can use a blog to do the same thing and be my own administrator, too.  I enjoyed the virtual chat we did last week.  The Blackboard site is set up so that things are easy to find.  At first, it was all overwhelming because I had never heard of a gator feed, didn’t know how to create a blog, and had only used IM with my sister.  I appreciate everyone’s postings on the discussion board, they were a big help, and I appreciate Dr. Lowell’s emails of encouragement…telling us to breathe.

I am having all my students email their six weeks projects to me (which uses the distance education concept), and next six weeks, I will have them as part of my TappedIn account so that they can chat in a productive way.  Once I am successful with my students and have evidence to show, I plan to share the experience with others in my school and get them on the bandwagon of technology.  I already have two teachers ready to enroll in the Masters program in the spring.
